Olfactory Map of populus, 2011, site specific installation, Loyola Campus, Concordia University, Montreal

Wundergarden is a semi-permanent outdoor installation for a series of curatorial projects directed towards research in art and the life sciences. The installation is a site for the exploration of diverse concepts related to the vegetal, as well as a hybrid gallery that will act as a living laboratory. Each tree species has subtle differences in smell composition depending on their chemical configurations. The different trees will be arranged or mapped according to their scent. Scent is one of the most significant markers of food preference for all living organisms, and plant life emit a phenomenally diverse range of olfactory combinations.
